introduction
TOYS (Take Off Your Skin) is part of the global multiplying project, KURONOZ.
KURONOZ are clones of Japanese dance artist, Yasuko Kurono, she has been replicating since 1999.
WELL developed TOYS as an elaboration of Yasuko’s long term social art work - incorporating large-scale choreography, intimate spectacle, hybrid media, subterfuge & participatory provocation.
Over 100 people in 6 cities took part in the live art on October 2nd 2009 as part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival - Australia: Melbourne, Newcastle, Brisbane, Darwin; Nagoya: Japan; Venice: Italy.
TOYS-KURONOZ is an ever-evolving multi-stage social art work.

Here we tell a story of the harmonious, discordant, posed and fluid patterns of the clones' movements through public and private spaces.
View more than 100 performers and many others infecting the streets of Melbourne, Newcastle, Darwin, Brisbane, Nagoya and Venice Biennale.
Select a series of filters - location, activity, mood and pod* - to see how each clone’s experience was unique, but connected.
*A pod is a group of 10 clones in the Melbourne performance.
